Her research focuses on intermedia; critical mediality; global art; the status of sensory experience in cultural knowledge; biopolitics; performativity and complexity.

Chris is Professor of Visualisation and Head of the 3D Visualisation Research Lab (3DVisLab) which specialises in applying 3D animation techniques to solve real world problems. Research themes in the Lab include the 3D visualisation of historic and environmentally significant shipwrecks.
