Chris is Professor of Visualisation and Head of the 3D Visualisation Research Lab (3DVisLab) which specialises in applying 3D animation techniques to solve real world problems. Research themes in the Lab include the 3D visualisation of historic and environmentally significant shipwrecks. Projects have included the Deepwater Horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico and the cruise liner Costa Concordia in Italy. Over the last decade Chris has been working on Shipwreck projects that are protected Naval War Graves. Additional themes at the 3DVisLab include medical visualisation, forensic crime scene reconstruction, glacial erosion and development of the Virtual Museum.
