Jimena Canales is a historian of science and an expert in 19th and 20th century history of the physical sciences. Her major works include A Tenth of a Second: A History (University of Chicago Press, 2009); The Physicist and the Philosopher: Einstein, Bergson and the Debate That Changed Our Understanding of Time (Princeton University Press, 2015); and Bedeviled: A Shadow History of Demons in Science (Princeton University Press, 2020), which was recently awarded the Cosmos Prize for science popularisation.
